Nicole handles state court criminal matters throughout Michigan and federal court criminal matters nationwide. She also has extensive experience with appeals, personal protection orders, civil matters, and Secretary of State administrative hearings–including driver’s license restoration and implied consent hearings. She is an experienced legal researcher and writer, allowing her to advocate for clients effectively in written motions and petitions to the court.
Nicole graduated summa cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law and was seventh in her class. She also earned academic awards for the highest grade in several law school classes and top brief awards in appellate competitions, including a top brief award in a national criminal appellate competition.
Before joining SBBL Law, Nicole worked for a criminal defense firm, fighting for clients’ rights in cases involving various allegations across Michigan. She also worked for the Michigan Attorney General’s office, where she analyzed and summarized issues in civil and criminal cases, including problems involving Michigan Sentencing Guidelines and lifetime juvenile sentences. Nicole also assisted in civil litigation on behalf of the State of Michigan and has experience working in a large corporate law firm with offices throughout the United States and abroad.
